1955-11-25:
Our Miss Brooks
Sylvia dances while Hy Averback as the "Maharajah" looks on. The episode was directed by John Rich, who would eventually marry Sylvia.
"John Rich was directing a few episodes of
Our Miss Brooks. I appeared in one, doing yet another 'harem' dance.
That is one very bored Hy Averback sitting there... not impressed. His body
language is hilarious. I think that was a rehearsal shot. Don't know why
he assumed the pose. Probably because somebody was having a hissy fit...
likely John."
After Our Miss Brooks Eve Arden starred in a self-titled TV series, and while Sylvia is not credited for appearing on that show, in the 1957 episode "Cover Girl" the premise is that Eve's head has been grafted onto a picture of a woman with a beautiful body in order to sell Eve's book.
Does the body look familiar?
